In his keynote address, Mayor Emilagba described the occasion as a celebration of impactful leadership, fulfilled promises and shared progress. He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to implementing policies and programmes that complement the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, by bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the grassroots through economic empowerment, infrastructure development and social welfare initiatives.

The Chairman also presented his administration’s one-year stewardship, highlighting remarkable achievements across infrastructure, healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, security, youth development, staff welfare and community empowerment.
The high point of the celebration was the distribution of an extensive range of empowerment packages to beneficiaries selected from across the Local Government.
As part of the initiative, beneficiaries received cash grants valued at ₦50,000, ₦100,000, ₦250,000, ₦500,000 and ₦1,000,000, aimed at strengthening existing businesses, supporting entrepreneurs and encouraging financial independence among residents.

In a unique effort to broaden opportunities for residents beyond financial support, the Chairman also unveiled tourism and cultural exposure opportunities for selected beneficiaries. These include sponsored trips to Rwanda for educational and developmental exposure, participation in the internationally recognised Osun-Osogbo Festival, as well as pilgrimages to Jerusalem for Christians and Mecca for Muslims.
