LAGOS MAINLAND LOCAL GOVERNMENT CELEBRATES DISTINGUISHED SERVICE OF MRS. SAULA AT GRAND RETIREMENT CEREMONY

Lagos Mainland Local Government on 21st July 2026 held a colourful and emotional retirement ceremony in honour of its retiring Council Treasurer, Mrs. Saula, in recognition of her outstanding years of dedicated and meritorious service to the Local Government and Lagos State Public Service.
The ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat Hall, brought together government officials, management staff, family members, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to celebrate the remarkable career and invaluable contributions of the retiree.
The event commenced with an opening prayer offered by a member of Mrs. Saula’s family, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. The Council Manager, Mr. Oluwafemi Moriu Ojikutu, delivered the welcome address, warmly receiving guests and describing Mrs. Saula as a committed, disciplined, and exemplary public servant whose dedication has positively impacted the Local Government.


A special prayer was later offered for the celebrant by the Chief Imam of Lagos Mainland Local Government, who prayed for God’s continued protection, good health, and fulfilment in her retirement years.
Goodwill messages were delivered by several dignitaries and associates. Mr. M. A. Ade Shina of Ikosi-Isheri Local Government praised Mrs. Saula for the positive impact she has made in the lives of many people, describing her as a mentor and source of inspiration. He prayed for her continued success and happiness.
Speaking on behalf of the Management Team, the Legal Officer, Barrister P. I. Lawrence, expressed profound appreciation for Mrs. Saula’s ingenuity, professionalism, and unwavering support to both management and members of staff throughout her years of service.
Representing the family, Mrs. Ologunde Ogunleye thanked everyone for attending the ceremony. She described Mrs. Saula as a loving and dependable sister who has always been present for family members during important occasions and has consistently made herself available to support others.
The Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Mayor (Dr.) Emilagba Kolawole Jubril, who was represented by the Vice Chairman in person of Hon.Adewale Momoh commended both the retiring Council Treasurer, Mrs. Saula, and the former Council Manager for their exemplary service, dedication, and immense contributions to the growth and development of the Local Government. He appreciated their commitment to public service and wished them continued fulfilment in retirement.
A citation highlighting the life, career, and achievements of Mrs. Saula was read, showcasing her remarkable journey and lasting legacy within the Local Government Service.


The Head of Service of the Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Olabode Shuaheeb Agoro, also delivered a goodwill message, congratulating Mrs. Saula on her successful career and presenting her with a Certificate of Service in recognition of her outstanding contributions. This was followed by another special prayer offered by the representative of Coca Aguda LCDA.
In her response, Mrs. Saula expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Apex Party Chairman, the Executive Chairman, management, members of staff, family, friends, and everyone who contributed to making the occasion memorable. She thanked them for their love, support, and encouragement throughout her years in service.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the Head of Human Resources, Mrs. Akinyemi Kehinde, who appreciated all the distinguished guests, management, staff, family members, and well-wishers for honouring the invitation. She wished everyone a safe journey back to their various destinations.


The ceremony was filled with joy, heartfelt tributes, prayers, and appreciation, reflecting Lagos Mainland Local Government’s enduring commitment to recognising and celebrating officers who have devoted their productive years to exemplary public service.
